MECX performed an in-situ chemical oxidation application at a former chemical plant.
Release of methylene chloride from a leaking UST caused extensive soil and groundwater contamination at the site. Catalyzed hydrogen peroxide followed by Klozur® (activated persulfate) was selected as the ISCO technology. Klozur® was applied into a total of 23 application wells in the area both under the building and outside the building.
Results indicated that the treatment reduced methylene chloride levels by 94% to 97%.
